How to verify a Florida septic license
A company website is advertising. The license lives on Florida DEP. Look the person and the business up yourself before anyone opens your tank.
Two official searches
DEP publishes two public tools. Use both if the first one is fussy.
Contractor search form Public license data
PumpRoster does not host license records.
What to look up
- The company name on the truck and the invoice — and any older name they mention.
- The individual contractor, if they give you a name. Registrations are often on a person, not a brand.
- The registration number. If they will not give it, that is information.
- Status: active, expired, or not found.
- A plumbing license is not a septic contractor registration. A contractor registration is not automatically a septage hauler operating permit.
What a match does not prove
An active row on DEP means the state has a registration on file. It does not mean the crew at your house is that licensee, or that the disposal site is legal. Ask where the waste goes.
